LP Nearing Completion (for real this time)

    June 21, 2011

Just thought I’d christen the new site layout with a candid update on a few things. Late last November we started recording a full length album. Most of you have been hearing about that for a while through emails, at shows or because you’re in the unfortunate position of friendship with one of us. Seven months later we are finally nearing the end of that process. We’ve said that before, and mostly we’ve been lying. Even as we say it now, there are still probably months before we hold in our hands the shrink-wrapped incarnation of this giant fiscal misstep. But alas, there is light at the end of the tunnel and with several more sessions we should be wrapping up vocals and into the final touches – a harmony here, a mandolin there. Over the course of the last half-year we’ve been fortunate enough to toil in a process that has been exhilarating, humbling, and not infrequently, harrowing. It’s also been expensive. But we’ve scrapped and saved and Bruce sold a few of his organs…and here we are. In the meantime, the studio has expanded it’s walls, it’s gaggle of engineers and it’s customer base since we began – a testament not only to the good work and popularity of the facility but also to how long we’ve been chipping away at this. We hope that will be reflected in the record. Oh yes, one more thing. It has a name: Ballrooms & Cannons.

    Thanks for reading, more soon.
